Thank you so much for those facts! I did not have the information to give, so im glad someone could.
Where I was shown that a dive search needed to happen was where the railroad tracks cross over at Shelby Bottoms Park. There is about a 75 yard radius from there to a tiny boat dock down stream.
I have been told that there is a lot of junk in the Cumberland and im sure "something" is getting hung up in that area.
I have also been shown the dam that you spoke of, so I believe a search at the area I mentioned along with a search down at the dam needs to happen ASAP!
Many thanks for your input!

I can feel the pain of the ones that have lost a love one.Look at the facts, the river has mostly a flat rock bottom. The river at shelby park is not that wide nor any place in the county That is why there is no boat docks.Check the real water time data for USGS #034315005. It is near the park. The flow rate sometime will reach over 100.000 cubic feet per second somtimes.Having a home on the river I have seen large trees draging the bottom of the river at high flow rates.I think the person would be in Cheatham County, down from nashville where the river spreads out at the dam.The mussel divers that I have talk with over the years have said that in the summer with a low flow rate that they can see about 6 to 8 inches. The water level in the summer is about 16 to 18 ft in most places. The barges go up stream about 2 times a day.The coal ones that go to the steam plant draw about 10 Ft of water. If you watch the water at the edge of the bank when they go up stream they suck the bottom out of the river and the river sides.
Good Luck

Hey Kelli,
Yes it definitely is about time. I have found a few names that are not on the list whom have went missing from that area.

Erika Cristobal 1/8/2006
Jazmin Diaz-Mendoza 9/4/2009
Jason Levesque 5/5/2009
Michael Parsley 4/10/2009
Marcie Smith 12/6/2007

All together that is 33 people.
6 were in 2009 alone!
Something needs to be done.
